Our Green Commitment
Alaska Fishing Expeditions approaches every trip with the idea of sustainability so that decisions made today will not result in depriving future generations of enjoying the streams and rivers that we have fished for decades. Our catch-and-release policy is enforced on every trip, we travel to the rivers by float or small-wheel planes, and boats are oar powered. Small groups and no-trace camping limit impact on the wildlands so the use of areas we visit can be sustainable. Green principles built into our itineraries include:
Reducing Environmental Impacts
-
Leave all areas as pristine as we found them. Leave no trace of our presence except for footprints.
-
Remove all of garbage when wilderness camping, and if possible, clean up after others.
-
Reduce energy consumption impact and material usage in all operations and administrative locations.
-
Consciously purchase goods giving thought to pre-cycling, re-using and recycling.
-
Contribute to the conservation of the regions we visit.
-
Impart natural history information during trips to enhance appreciation and understanding of wild Alaska and the Kamchatka Peninsula to our guests.

-
Approach wildlife so that trip presence does not disturb them or change their behavior, including observing animals from a distance even when the opportunity to get closer exists.
-
Avoid critical habitat areas that are particularly important to wildlife survival.
Giving Back
Alaska Fishing Expeditions gives back to the communities in the areas where we do business by supporting conservation-minded organizations.
